Itinerary
The schedule below follows the published route. The guide may adjust it for mountain conditions and team safety.
01Day 1: Arrival in Leh
Arrive in Leh and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is kept free to rest and recover from travel. Complete rest is recommended to help the body begin acclimatizing to the high altitude. Overnight: Hotel in Leh
02Day 2: Acclimatization in Leh
Full day reserved for acclimatization. Light sightseeing around Leh such as Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, or local markets may be done at a relaxed pace. This day is crucial for adapting to altitude before moving into higher regions. Overnight: Hotel in Leh
03Day 3: Leh → Lato (Drive)
Drive from Leh to Lato village. The scenic drive introduces you to the rugged landscapes of Ladakh. On arrival, settle in and rest. Overnight: Homestay / Camp
04Day 4: Lato → Shiul Sumdo
Begin trekking from Lato towards Shiul Sumdo. The trail passes through remote valleys with stunning mountain views. Reach Shiul Sumdo and set up camp for the night. Overnight: Tents
05Day 5: Shiul Sumdo → Chaksung via Shiul Pass
Trek from Shiul Sumdo to Chaksung crossing the Shiul Pass. This is a challenging yet rewarding day with expansive views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Overnight: Tents at Chaksung
06Day 6: Chaksung → Dzo Jongo Base Camp via Chak Pass
Trek to Dzo Jongo Base Camp crossing Chak Pass. The terrain becomes increasingly alpine as you approach base camp. Upon arrival, establish base camp and rest. Overnight: Tents at Base Camp
07Day 7: Acclimatization at Base Camp
Rest and acclimatization day at base camp. Short acclimatization walks and basic technical training may be conducted. This day is essential to prepare the body for summit efforts. Overnight: Tents at Base Camp
08Day 8: Base Camp → High Camp (West Peak)
Move from Base Camp to High Camp for Dzo Jongo West Peak. Carry necessary climbing gear and establish High Camp. Overnight: Tents at High Camp
09Day 9: Summit Day – Dzo Jongo West Peak & Return to Base Camp
Early morning summit push for Dzo Jongo West Peak. After reaching the summit and spending some time enjoying the panoramic Himalayan views, descend carefully back to Base Camp. Overnight: Tents at Base Camp
10Day 10: Base Camp → Chokdo via Kongmaru La, Drive to Leh
Trek from Base Camp to Chokdo crossing the famous Kongmaru La Pass. After reaching Chokdo, drive back to Leh. Overnight: Hotel in Leh
11Day 11: Reserve Day
A buffer day reserved for bad weather or any delays during the expedition. This day will be used only if required. Overnight: Leh
12Day 12: Departure from Leh

The climb is considered moderate to challenging , mainly due to the high altitude (6000+ m). It does not require technical mountaineering skills, but you must be physically fit and well-acclimatized.
Do I need prior trekking experience?
Yes, prior experience of at least one high-altitude trek (4,500m+ ) is strongly recommended. Beginners can join only if they have a good fitness level and prepare well before the expedition.

June to September (clear weather & stable conditions) Winter ascents are not recommended due to extreme cold and heavy snowfall.
